Staff Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist/Scientist

Tetra Tech's McClellan office is seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer, Geoscientist or Scientist to perform field work and project coordination.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Conduct environmental site assessment, remediation, risk management, and hazardous building material projects on behalf of our clients at sites throughout the prairie provinces.
Coordinate the schedules and activities of project sub-contractors.
Perform assessment activities while being mindful of the policies and procedures to protect worker health and safety.
Perform environmental soil and groundwater sampling in accordance with company, client, and industry standards.
Perform hazardous building material assessments and sampling in accordance with company, client, and industry standards.
Maintain meticulous, comprehensive field notes.
Prepare draft work plans for review by senior staff.
Prepare environmental site assessment reports.
Use industry practices and procedures to solve environmental problems.
A degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience or Science or related field is preferred.
1-5 years of environmental consulting experience, with increasing responsibility.
Previous environmental assessment experience (soil and groundwater sampling, Phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments, site remediation, risk management, hazardous building material assessments.)
Knowledge and understanding of state and national environmental guidelines.
A valid 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
A valid California Class C driver's license with a clean abstract
Candidate must have a strong desire to work as part of a team that is committed to protecting the health and safety of project participants, must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and good interpersonal and communication skills, and must have the ability to work with limited supervision.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
